Income from regularization of Income tax for the year 2021 amounted to more than S / 13,200 million so far, an amount that already constitutes the highest historical collection achieved so far for this concept, the National Superintendence of Customs and Tax Administration (Sunat) reported today.
Superintendent Luis Enrique Vera Castillo specified that this figure, which will increase even more until the end of this month, is equivalent to a growth of 83% compared to the amount achieved between January 1 and April 30 of last year.
“These results reflect the sustained recovery of economic activity in the 2021 financial year, the facilitation and compliance control actions deployed by Sunat and also the willingness of taxpayers who, in greater numbers, expressed their commitment to the country by submitting their tax return. “, he explained.
The sustained economic recovery experienced in 2021, after the negative effects of the pandemic in 2020. A greater regularization of IR due to the fact that the monthly payments on account made during 2021, although they were higher than the previous year, did not reach to reflect in all its magnitude the growth in profits for that year, as explained by Sunat.

At the sectoral level, the payments corresponding to mining stood out, which amounted to S/ 5,700 million, which represents 43% of the IR collection achieved in this campaign.
This result is equivalent to a growth of 157.3% and is explained not only by the factors already mentioned but also by the good performance of this activity during 2021, in a context of increased prices of the main exported minerals (particularly the copper) that led to higher revenues and higher profits in the main companies in the sector.
In the rest of the sectors, the result was also very positive, achieving an increase of 50.5% compared to the previous year and a collection of almost S/ 7,600 million.
Among these sectors we can mention hydrocarbons, which raised almost one billion soles (454.7%), manufacturing with S/ 1,300 million (98.0%), trade with S/ 1,300 million (47.5%) and services with S/ 2,500 million (22.2%).
