Executive creates working group to solve problems of dairy farmers

The Executive created the temporary working group called “High-Level Executive Board to contribute to the attention and solution of the socio-economic problems that the country’s dairy farming subsector is going through.”

Through Secretariat Resolution No. 004-2022-PCM/SGSD published today in the newspaper El Peruano, it is established that the objective of the multisectoral working group will be to analyze the problem of dairy farming in the country to generate alternatives short, medium and long term solutionguaranteeing the food security of the Peruvian population.

The equipment will be installed within a maximum period of 15 business days from Monday, March 21, and its validity will be 180 calendar days Counted from installation. It will be composed of:

• One (1) representative of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, who will chair it.
• One (1) representative of the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
• One (1) representative of the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation.
• One (1) representative of the Ministry of Health.
• One (1) representative of the Ministry of Production.
• The Secretary for Social Management and Dialogue of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers or their representative.
• One (1) representative of the National Institute of Quality – Inacal.
• One (1) representative of the National Institute for the Defense of Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property –Indecopi.
• One (1) representative of the National Convention of Peruvian Agriculture – Conveagro
• One (1) representative of the Association of Dairy Farmers of Peru – Agalep;
• One (1) representative of the National Association of Artisan Producers of Dairy Products.
• One (1) representative of the National Society of Industries – Food Industries Committee.

Also, its functions will be:

• Propose actions and measures aimed at contributing to the solution of the problem of the country’s dairy cattle subsector.
• Articulate with public and private entities, and other local and national actors, to help generate short, medium and long-term solutions to the problems of the dairy cattle subsector.
