The Basque fleet remains without fishing for 24 hours due to the transport strike

The brotherhoods consider that there is no point in going out to fish if there is no transport to distribute the fish afterwards. In principle, the ships will sail again during the evening of Tuesday, although the brotherhoods clarify that they will make decisions day by day.

The fishermen of Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa remain without fishing for at least 24 hours as a result of the indefinite strike in the transport sector to which thousands of carriers from the CAV and Navarra have joined.

The brotherhoods, which have held a meeting this afternoon to analyze the situation, consider that it is useless to go fishing if upon arrival at the port there is no transport to distribute the merchandise.

In principle, the ships will sail again tomorrow at sunset, although the brotherhoods clarify that they will make the decisions “day by day”.
