Minister of Economy and Finance met with the superintendent of the SBS

The head of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), Óscar Graham, met this Friday with Socorro Heysen, Superintendent of Banking, Insurance and AFPs (SBS), to coordinate a joint agenda aimed at achieving greater competition in the financial system and its strengthening, informed the sector.

According to the communication released by the MEF, at the meeting, both officials addressed issues aimed at promoting greater competition in the financial system, such as through the simplification of regulatory requirements, facilitation of 100% digital offices, differentiation of regimes of supervision based on the risk profile, among others.

“They highlighted the importance of continuing with timely monitoring of the indicators of the financial system, which has been showing a favorable performance hand in hand with various measures implemented such as reprogramming and liquidity programs and asset strengthening of microfinance institutions,” mentions the MEF .

Finally, the ministry points out that the meeting with the SBS superintendent is part of a series of meetings that Minister Graham has scheduled with representatives and authorities of governing, supervisory, and auditing entities of the country’s financial, monetary, and economic system.
