It was not planned to attract rescuers to the hole in the village of Vyra, Leningrad region, since Epiphany bathing was not authorized there. Alexei Zybtsev, Chief State Inspector for Small Vessels of the Region, Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Leningrad Region, told reporters about this. He explained why the woman died on January 19.

“She was bathing after a bath in a private area. The hole was carved directly by them. She was not an official hole. No one planned to hold events related to baptism there, ”said Zybtsev.

This, he said, explains the lack of attendants.

“On a river with a course, you can’t just cut an ice hole and indulge in, among other things, the rite of baptism. It is necessary to make a special device – a ladder, into which the sidewalls are sewn up, so that in no case will a person be pulled under the ice by the current. Moreover, you should not jump into the hole, but you need to go down the stairs and go out the stairs, ”summed up Zybtsev.

Recall that the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case after the death of a woman in the village of Vyra.

Earlier it became known that two more people had died on the ice in the Leningrad region since the beginning of winter.
