Ceplan presents National Prospective Observatory to improve policies and plans in the country

The National Center for Strategic Planning (Ceplan) made the National Foresight Observatory available to citizens, an information platform based on the second phase of the strategic planning cycle for continuous improvement: analysis of the desired future.

The instrument has been prepared by the National Directorate of Prospective and Strategic Studies (DNPE) of Ceplan and has information from official sources to provide the user with elements that help develop the correct planning process in the territories with a future perspective.

The observatory presents information on trends (global, national, territorial and sectoral), scenarios, megatrends (globalization, demography, technology and environment), risks, opportunities and future events; systematized for access and use by operators of the National Strategic Planning System (Sinaplan) and the general public.

Likewise, the user will have information sheets that include the impact of COVID-19 with the estimation of future behavior, as well as graphs to visualize how the trends are behaving.

“The information presented (international, national and subnational) is key to making decisions with a future perspective and long-term vision, whose direct application will influence the development of policies and plans at all levels. The tool is easy to access and navigate, and contains current information that is constantly updated based on the publication of new data or relevant reports”, detailed Ceplan.
