Siemens Gamesa loses 403 million in its fiscal first quarter

The wind turbine manufacturer Siemens Gamesa he scored some losses of 403 million euros in the first quarter of its fiscal year (October-December), due to the drop in sales and disruptions in the supply chain, the company reported this Thursday to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), the stock market regulator .

The company indicates in a note that commercial activity remained strong, reflecting the good growth prospects of the wind sector.

Siemens Gamesa has disclosed a 20.3% drop in salesup to 1,829 million euros.

EBIT pre PPA (purchase process allocation costs) before integration and restructuring costs had a negative balance of 309 million euroswith an EBIT margin of 16.9%, due to interruptions in the supply chain in manufacturing and the challenges experienced in the execution of projects and the launch of the Onshore platform.

This indicator includes a negative impact of 289 million eurosdue to cost deviations in onerous contracts, although sales grew by 8%.

At the end of December 2021, the company had a net debt position of 1,097 million, although it has a solid financial position with access to 4,723 million euros in authorized financing lines, of which 1,557 million have been drawn down. euros, and with total available liquidity of 4,499 million euros.
