Omich was suspected of mistreating the almost one-year-old son of his common-law wife. The kid’s tormentor was detained, the criminal case is being investigated under paragraph “d” part 2 of Art. 117 of the Criminal Code (torture).
The beaten stepson of the man was hospitalized. According to the prosecutor’s office of the Soviet District, a nine-month-old child, possibly from birth, has a disease for which a disability has been issued.
As stated in the report of the Investigative Committee, the detainee is charged with the fact that he, “punishing”, hit the child on the head with his hands, took him by the legs, turned him upside down and shook him. All this happened in the absence of a cohabitant from January 26 to February 1.
The supervisory authority notes that the family recently settled in Omsk, having moved there in November from Nizhnevartovsk. On January 26, the mother returned to Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug for paperwork. The woman has three children – the affected boy has brothers or sisters born in 2017 and 2020. She also left them with a roommate.
As a result of the incident, two children were seized by guardianship and placed in a specialized children’s home.
