LAB, ELA and USO affirm that time has “proved them right” because the crisis was “temporary and not at all structural”.
The LAB, ELA and USO unions have demanded the reinstatement of the more than 80 workers at the Aernnova plant in Berantevilla (Álava) fired a year ago because, in their opinion, time has “proved them right” and has shown that the crisis in the company was “temporary”.
Representatives of these unions have offered a press conference on the anniversary of the dismissals. In the appearance, the trade union centrals have recalled that “barely” a year and a half ago, the Aernnova group announced the dismissal of 500 workers from its State plants, most of them affecting their factories in Alava.
Finally, as they have pointed out, the destruction of employment in the State reached “more than enough” 500 jobs and, specifically, in the Berantevilla plant, there were 82, of which 55 were “forced dismissals”.
“Aernnova argued that the aeronautical sector was in crisis, not seeing full recovery or in five years in the best of cases and if it happened, and that for this reason the workforce had to be slimmed down,” they pointed out.
For this reason, they have demanded that Aernnova “rectify, recognize its mistake” and proceed “as soon as possible to the immediate reinstatement of the workers fired in a traumatic way”.
