The Spanish Government approves the Housing Law

Now it will go to the Courts, where it will be processed by the urgent procedure to meet one of the milestones of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.

The Spanish Government approved this Tuesday the Bill for the Right to Housing, which will now go to the Cortes, where it will be processed by the urgent procedure to meet one of the milestones of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.

“It is a rigorous, solid, compact and transversal law, which shields the social condition that housing must have”, said the Minister of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda at the press conference after the Council of Ministers, Rachel Sanchez, which has ensured that “it fully respects regional powers.”

The text will be the first law that will regulate this constitutional right, and will incorporate measures to strengthen public housing stocks and favor access to it through instruments that increase supply at affordable prices.
