Sleeping in warm socks can lead to the development of infections and can even provoke necrosis if the protective properties of the skin of the legs are weakened, said phlebologist surgeon Armen Avakyan.

The specialist named two categories of people who are strictly forbidden to wear warm socks at night, RIA Novosti reports. In particular, the negative consequences of such a dream threaten those who have impaired circulation in the feet. In such patients, the legs are constantly cold, but it is not recommended to warm them with additional clothing, because if you sleep in socks with atherosclerosis of the vessels of the lower extremities, you can get a fungal infection.

In addition, blood circulation in the lower extremities is also impaired in people with diabetes. The protective properties of the skin of the feet with this disease also decrease, as a result, there are risks of dangerous infectious complications. The doctor stressed that this can lead to non-healing infections, and in the worst case, to purulent-necrotic diseases and necrosis.

The specialist recommended that people who experience discomfort due to constantly freezing feet warm them up before bed with a contrast shower.
