The Biscayan employers have ensured that the prevalence of Basque agreements over state agreements is guaranteed both in writing since 2017 and in practiceto. For this reason, he does not understand and rejects the arguments of the PNV and EH Bildu to vote against the labor reform that will be put to the vote this coming Thursday in the Congress of Deputies.

The PNV’s argument is that the labor reform does not guarantee the prevalence of Basque agreements, an approach shared by EH Bildu, which also calls for the complete repeal of the current labor reform, carried out by the PP government.

In a press conference on economic news, the president of Cebek, Carolina Pérez Toledo, and its general secretary, Francisco Azpiazu, have insisted on the value of the agreement on labor reform.

Cebek recalled today that the Basque employers’ association, Confebask, signed a prevalence agreement in 2017 for Basque agreements with the rest of the majority unions, “so our framework is sufficiently protected.”

The interprofessional agreement of 2017, which is indefinite, guarantees the application priority of the agreements signed in Euskadi over any other agreement at the state level”, has read textually Azpiazu.
