Heineken Ecuador inaugurates a canning plant with a capacity of one million electrolytes

The Vice Minister of Promotion of Exports and Investments, Lorena Konanz, highlighted that this type of progress encourages foreign investment in the country.

That in five years Heineken Ecuador reaches 20% market share is the objective set with the inauguration of the company’s canning plant.

This was explained by Ludovic Auvray, president of Heineken Ecuador, a 157-year-old company with a presence in the country for two years.

The Dutch beer brand, which acquired the majority stake in the company Biela y Bebidas del Ecuador SA (Biela Ecuador), carries out 99% of its production and manufacture of beers in the country, according to Auvray.

“That (new) plant during a pandemic we could not make the inauguration. It has an operating capacity of one million electrolytes. We are now using a small part of that capacity, but we are looking forward to filling the plant by 2025 ″, he says.

According to Auvray, the next few years are important because they foresee an investment of about $ 100 million.

Heineken started the production of its beer in Guayaquil

In the new plant they pack Heineken, Amstel, Biela Reserva and Biela Light. His plans are to launch other products and that would increase the workforce, according to Auvray. In addition, it highlights that in a pandemic, hiring was maintained with an increase of 30%.

The Vice Minister of Export and Investment Promotion, Lorena Konanz, and other company executives were present at that inauguration.

“It is important to show the government our investment capacity and ensure that we are here for the long term,” said Auvray.

Konanz was excited about the visit and affirmed that the regime maintains an open policy so that foreign companies such as Heineken feel safe to invest in the country.

“From the Vice Ministry we support national and foreign investments, we are open to the world, it is part of the slogan of President Guillermo Lasso,” he said.

The official announced that they are working on an exportable offer to give value to the products. Although he mentioned that at the moment he has the route of the exporter. “Through which we promote small and medium producers who want to go out into the world. We train them, we give them technical assistance and we help them through our offices to find buyers abroad ”, he explained. (I)
