Promperú projects to reach US$17.5 billion in non-mining energy exports during 2022

The Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism (Promperú) expects to reach US$17.5 billion in non-mining energy exports during 2022, according to the strategic objectives of the institution presented this Thursday by Mario Ocharán, director of export promotion of Promperu.

Along these lines, by 2025 the figure is expected to exceed US$20 billion.

On the other hand, Promperú plans to expand the country’s export base and reach 8,000 exporting companies in 2022 and 13,000 by 2025.

This alignment is aimed at supporting companies that export sporadically and those with export potential that are mainly located in the country’s regions, says Ocharán.

Business expectations for 2022

In addition, regarding the commercial promotion of the Agro Sector, it is estimated to generate US$ 750 million in business expectations for the next twelve months. This through the participation of 305 exporting companies, of which 90% will be SMEs and 60% will come from the interior regions of the country.

Likewise, in the Manufacturing Sector it is calculated to reach US$130 million in business expectations. “This figure is projected to be reached through the participation of 410 exporting companies, of which 90% will be SMEs and 20% will come from the regions,” Ocharán mentioned.

Meanwhile, in the Fishing Sector the projection reaches US$170 million through promotional actions, this amount is US$92 million higher than what was achieved in 2021.

Finally, in the clothing and decoration industry, it is expected to reach US$ 114 million through 300 exporting companies.

It should be noted that the promotional actions include missions, international fairs and business roundtables.
