Vehicle Equity Tax: MEF approves Table of Referential Values ​​2022

The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) approved the “Table of Reference Values ​​for Vehicles” with respect to vehicles whose year of manufacture is from 2019 to 2021, in order to determine the tax base of the Vehicle Equity Tax corresponding to fiscal year 2022.

Through Ministerial Resolution No. 003-2022-EF / 15, the MEF establishes that, in order to determine the reference value of those vehicles subject to Tax whose year of manufacture is prior to 2019, the value of the vehicle must be multiplied indicated for the year 2021 by the factor indicated for the year to which its manufacture corresponds, included in the following table:

The value determined according to the procedure indicated in the previous paragraph must be rounded up to ten soles if the number of units is five soles (S / 5.00) or greater; or to the lower ten soles, if the number of units is less than five soles (S / 5.00).

Vehicle Wealth Tax: What is it?

The Vehicle Equity Tax, whose value is renewed annually, taxes the property of vehicles, automobiles, vans, station wagons, trucks, buses and buses.

The owner of the vehicle is obliged to pay this tax on January 1 of each year, in which the vehicle is due. It must be paid for three years, counted from the year following the first registration in the Vehicle Property Registry.

For example, if you acquire a vehicle and have a fixed address in the province of Lima, you must make the payment until the last business day of February of the year following the acquisition. Failure to make this declaration will result in a fine for declaring after the deadline.
