Vyalbe called the Olympics a war

The head of the Russian Cross-Country Skiing Federation (FLGR) Elena Vyalbe commented on the composition of the Russian national team for the Olympic Games-2022 in Beijing. Her words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

“The team includes the best skiers of the country. Therefore, we hope that this is a combat strength, ”she said. Vyalbe called the upcoming Olympic Games another war and stressed that there were no disputes about the composition of the members of the presidium.

Earlier on January 11, the FLGR Presidium announced the composition of the Russian national team for the Olympics. For men, in addition to the world champion Alexander Bolshunov, Sergey Ustyugov, Ivan Yakimushkin, Alexey Chervotkin, Denis Spitsov, Artem Maltsev, Ilya Semikov and Alexander Terentyev will take part in the competition.

For women, the winner of the Tour de Ski, Natalya Nepryaeva, as well as Veronika Stepanova, Tatyana Sorina, Yulia Stupak, Khristina Matsokina, Maria Istomina, Lilia Vasilyeva and Anastasia Rygalina were included.

The Olympic Games in Beijing will be held from 4 to 20 February. Skiers will compete for 12 sets of awards.
