Pensioners from Bizkaia call to demonstrate on the 15th to demand the increase in pensions with the “real CPI”

Due to the pandemic situation, there will not be a single demonstration, but rather it has been decided to distribute the mobilizations with marches in the four capitals of Hego Euskal Herria, as well as in several locations, all of them at 12:00 hours.

The Movement of Pensioners from Bizkaia has made a call to participate in the demonstrations that have been called this next January 15, coinciding with the fourth anniversary of the mobilizations of the group of pensioners, to demand the rise in pensions based on the “real CPI” and defend the “many demands” that have yet to be answered.

The pensioners have made their usual weekly rally this Monday before the Bilbao City Council to demand “decent pensions.” Its spokespersons have taken advantage of the protest to encourage citizens to participate in the different demonstrations that have been called this coming 15th on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of the launch of the pensioners movement and their mobilizations.

Due to the pandemic situation, there will not be a single demonstration, but instead it has been decided to distribute the mobilizations with marches in the four capitals of the Southern Basque Country, as well as in various locations, all of them at 12:00 hours.

The Biscayan pensioners have remarked that their mobilizations “have to continue” because, although it was possible to “stop the 0.25%” in which the pension review was established, it is necessary that the rise in pensions note “real CPI, and not an invented one like now. “

“The CPI has risen by 5.6% and they are going to rise by 2.5%, with which we are going to lose 3% of purchasing power,” warned one of the spokespersons, Andrea Nail. For this reason and for other “many demands” of the Pensioners Movement to which no response has been given, he has appealed to “continue in the streets.”
