Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic has been cleared of all charges brought by the Australian government. It is reported by “BBC” with reference to the brother of the athlete George.
Djordje Djokovic stressed that all procedures have been completed and the tennis player will be able to play at the Australian Open. In addition, the athlete’s father Srdjan thanked the fans for their support. “This is a huge victory for him, his family and the entire free world,” he added.
Earlier on January 10, Djokovic won an appeal for deportation from Australia. The court agreed with the statement that the Serb had provided all the documents to enter Australia. Later, the athlete’s father said that the tennis player was arrested, despite the court order.
On January 5, Djokovic was denied entry to Australia, as his visa did not imply the entry into it of data on a medical withdrawal from vaccination against COVID-19. The athlete planned to take part in the Australian Open, which will take place from January 17 to 30.
