The Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP) reported that the year-on-year growth of loans to individuals accelerated from 2.8% in October to 4.1% in November, the highest rate since June 2020.
According to the monetary entity, this performance is explained by higher loans in soles, which advanced 5.0% year-on-year in November compared to 3.7% registered in October.
In monthly terms, personal credit increased 1.7% in November compared to October, the fourth consecutive month of expansion. This increase was explained by the greater expansion of consumer and mortgage by 2.4% and 0.8%, respectively.
By segment, mortgage credit had a year-on-year growth of 7.5 percent in November, versus the expansion of 7.6 percent in October.
Regarding the consumer loans, went from an annual fall of 0.5 percent in October, to an expansion of 1.6 percent last November.
