Who is José Antonio Salardi Rodríguez, the new Minister of Economy and Finance that replaces José Arista?

José Antonio Salardi Rodríguez He was appointed Minister of Economy and Finance of Peru on January 31, in a ceremony in which President Dina Boluarte took an oath. Salardi replaces José Arista, who held the position for more than a year.

The news was released on Thursday, highlighting the vast public and economic experience of Salardi, who until that time occupied the executive presidency of the Private Investment Promotion Agency (Proinversion).

Who is José Salardi Rodríguez?

Graduated economist from the National University of San Marcos. It has extensive experience in the public sphere, where it has played various roles of high responsibility. In July 2020, he assumed the position of Minister of Production and previously served as Vice Minister of Mype and Industries in the same ministry. Its leadership has been fundamental in key initiatives related to public investment and the development of infrastructure in the country, standing out as president of the Board of Directors of the Technical Agency for the Administration of Sanitation Services (OTASS) and at the head of the Proinversion Social Committee .

Throughout its professional career, Salardi has performed significant functions in various government entities, including the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation, the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, as well as in the National Superintendence of Sanitation Services (SUNASS). These experiences have enriched their understanding about public policies linked to infrastructure and essential services.

Regarding its academic training, Salardi has two master’s degrees in business administration and business management, obtained in recognized institutions from Spain and Chile. His work as a teacher at the National University of Engineering (UNI) and at Ricardo Palma University shows his dedication to education and his interest in contributing to the development of new generations of professionals.

Dina Boluarte also sworn in two new ministers

President Dina Boluarte took new headlines in other sectors. Leslie Urteaga assumed the position of Minister of Development and Social Inclusion. In the Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations, Fanny Montellanos was appointed in replacement of Julio Demartini.
