The Ministry of Production (Produce) reported this Thursday that cinemas will be able to sell and allow their customers to consume food and beverages inside the rooms.
The head of Produce, José Rogger Incio, said that this measure is launched after the recommendations of the national health authorities and the successful progress of the vaccination process in the country, after joint work with the Ministry of Health (Minsa).
The minister specified that Only people immunized with two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine will be able to do so, within theaters located in the provinces that have an advance of 40% of vaccination.
“Compliance with this condition will govern when the Ministry of Health (Minsa) expressly communicates it to Produce,” he added.
Likewise, Incio indicates that cinemas must set up rooms for vaccinated people with full doses and that they have fulfilled the expected time for the formation of antibodies, which will be defined by the National Health Authority.
Against public health
Through social networks, some Internet users expressed their surprise when they saw that chains such as Cineplanet were already allowing the consumption of food and beverages inside theaters, thus violating sanitary regulations.
In this regard, the epidemiologist Cesar Carcamo, argues that public health has been endangered since movie theaters are highly concentrated spaces, and therefore dangerous.
Regardless of whether the Government authorizes the intake of food to people with the two doses, it considers that “risks are still being taken.”
