More than 1.14 million Peruvian mypes are led by mothers

Since 2018, the universe of entrepreneurial mothers at the head of a business has increased by more than 32,690, according to Produce.

From the Ministry of Production (Produce), they recalled that 1 million 148,282 mypes are led by entrepreneurial mothers.

Compared to 2018, there was an increase of more than 32,690 mothers in charge of a small business, in figures from the National Household Survey (ENAHO) and the Permanent National Employment Survey (EPEN).

Sergio González, head of Produce, stressed that mothers make up 35.1% of the total number of entrepreneurs nationwide, and for this year, they expect the universe to continue increasing.

By geographical location, Lima concentrates 23.9%; followed by La Libertad (8.7%), Piura (8.1%), Puno (7.1%) and Cusco (6.8%); and the areas where they stand out the most are commerce (38.6%) and agriculture (28.1%).
