The Indecopi Special Monitoring Center (CEMI) received a total of 9,233 reports and inquiries from consumers during the 2020 Christmas holidays, due to problems faced in the Commerce and Industry (48.1%) and Financial and Insurance ( 36.7%).

The most frequent problems reported by citizens were due to not receiving the products or services they bought, they were not reimbursed for the products they did not receive, they were sold defective products, there were unrecognized banking or financial operations, or they were charged in an unrecognized manner. improper.

It should be noted that these reports intensified on the dates of Christmas and New Years and were related to the acquisition of technological products, clothing and footwear, as well as problems due to non-compliance with turkey purchase vouchers.

Citizens also reported to telecommunications companies regarding the increase in sales of cellular equipment; to banks due to lack of clarity in the conditions of sale of financial products (such as, for example, membership charges, interest, unanticipated commissions), and airlines, given the increase in travel.
