A new video archive with torture of prisoners has been published – this time in the Krasnoyarsk Territory

Human rights activists have published on the Internet another video archive with torture of prisoners. According to the Gulagu.net project, these are fragments of the “secret video archive of the FSB / FSIN” received by human rights activists the day before. Published “less than 1% of what we have,” say human rights activists.

Presumably, the video demonstrates what was happening in OTB-1 in Krasnoyarsk. In one video, a prisoner is beaten, but this is not visible in the frame, because another prisoner hung mattresses on the bunks where the massacre took place in order to hide the beating.

There is also footage of one of the prisoners falling from the window. The video is dated July 27, 2020. According to human rights activists, the prisoner died two days later, and this was not a suicide: he was deliberately thrown out of the window.

The video archive for Krasnoyarsk contains more than 100 gigabytes, the materials have already been sent to the European Parliament and the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture.

Recall that in early October, human rights activists published a video on the Internet with torture and rape of prisoners in the hospital of the Saratov Federal Penitentiary Service. According to human rights activist Vladimir Osechkin, 40 gigabytes of torture videos were filmed by employees of the department on official video recorders, and later other videos appeared on the Internet. Criminal cases were initiated, the situation was taken over by the Prosecutor General’s Office, the State Duma and the Federation Council.

On November 25, Putin dismissed the head of the Federal Penitentiary Service, Alexander Kalashnikov. Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Colonel-General of Internal Service Arkady Gostev has been appointed the new head of the department.

Last week it became known that extremely unusual “thieves’ run” (letter to all “inmates”). It says that prisoners who have been tortured, raped and abused by the jailers cannot be demoted. And those who have already become victims are asked not to follow the lead of the jailers and not “break” other prisoners.

Today, a bill was introduced to the State Duma to toughen the punishment for torture organized by government officials; they will be punished with imprisonment for up to 12 years. In addition, coercion to testify for FSIN officers will be equated with torture, and the concept of “intimidation” will be introduced.
