SBS declares the dissolution of the Bienestar Perú cooperative

The Superintendence of Banking and Insurance (SBS) has ordered the dissolution of the Wellbeing Peru Savings and Credit Cooperative due to the total loss of share capital and the cooperative reserve, which was determined based on the financial information reported by the entity and the permanent supervision actions carried out by the SBS. As of June 30, 2023, the cooperative recorded negative equity amounting to S/1 million 815,352.

The company was informed of this decision on December 20, 2023, through a virtual meeting, and had until January 13, 2024 to present its defenses. A day before, the representatives of Bienestar Perú sent the SBS an authorization for the conversion of part of its debts (deposits made by said partner and loans granted by it) into Intervention in contributions, with the purpose of these forming part of the capital. social security of said entity, for a joint amount of S/1 million 600,000 (S/1 million 400,000 came from deposits and S/200,000 from a loan).

However, the amount was insufficient to reverse the company’s situation. Having concluded the period established to prove the lifting of the cause that motivated the declaration of the intervention regime, The SBS decided to dissolve it and exclude it from the National Registry of Savings and Credit Cooperatives Not Authorized to Raise Resources from the Public.

The SBS also appointed Anabel Nagai Huillcahuaman Knifeidentified with DNI 44885195, already Elvis Alfonso Paquirachi Díaz, identified with DNI 46718099, as temporary, main and alternate administrators, respectively, so that on behalf of this Superintendency they carry out the necessary acts and carry out the dissolution of the cooperative. In addition, all the powers granted to them to carry out this task are listed, such as registering the resolution that declared the dissolution of the company, as well as having an inventory of all its assets carried out, among other tasks.
