He also reiterated that Las Bambas will proceed to paralyze 100% of its production from 7:00 am this Saturday, December 18, after 29 days of blockade by the residents of Chumbivilcas, who seek contractual improvements.

Raúl Jacob, president of the National Society of Mining, Oil and Energy (SNMPE) described the dialogue with Castillo Terrones as “good”, and indicated that it is expected to “move forward” so that “such an important operation for Peru does not close.” .

“It is going to be paralyzed tomorrow. To give you an idea, it is 15% of the national copper production. That’s 2% of the world’s copper production. It is not little ”, he sustained.
