Ministerial agreements issued by former Labor Minister Patricio Donoso two days before the end of Guillermo Lasso’s administration have been officially revoked by current Labor Minister Ivonne Núñez, the State Portfolio reported this Tuesday, December 5.
These agreements were repealed by Ministerial Agreement no. MDT-2023-174.
There will be no employee changes, the new Minister of Labor will not implement the ministerial agreements of the outgoing Government
These ministerial agreements, which have now been abolished, included dynamic working days of up to twelve hours a day in order to have more days off per week, special days for companies that justify the reasons and obtain approval and days that can accumulate up to 70 continuous days, this for activities which require uninterrupted provision of services.
The ministerial agreements also discussed new contract modalities: for young people who are employed in call center and for those who, for example, have 20 years of contributions to the Ecuadorian Social Security Institute (IESS) and are employed in time until retirement.
