Dollar closes higher for the third consecutive session: how much was it quoted this Monday, November 13?

He dollar price closed with a slight increase for the third consecutive session this Monday, November 13, 2023 and it reached S/3.8100. This increase represents an advance of 0.08% compared to the S/3.8070 registered at the close of Friday and 0.16% compared to Thursday’s value, which was S/3.8040, according to the Bank Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP). So far this year the currency has accumulated a variation of 0.08%.

At 1:50 pm the greenback in the parallel market stood at S/3,790 for purchase and S/3,820 for sale. While the reference exchange rate in the banking market was S/3.777 for purchases and S/3.8400 for sales in the Banco de Crédito del Perú (BCP).

At the local level, according to Gianina Villavicencio, Intermediation Manager of Divisas de Renta4 SAB, during the day there was little supply in the off shore market, and US$174 million were negotiated at an average price of S/3.8113.

Internationally, the dollar remains stable after Jerome Powell, chairman of the Federal Reserve (Fed), previously warned about the possibility of raising interest rates in December if necessary. Furthermore, he insisted that these rates will remain at high levels for a long period of time.
