The Aprosaroch Mazamar Agrarian Cooperativei (Junín), promoted by the National Commission for Development and Life without Drugs (Devida), exported around 25 tons of cocoa to the Italian company ICAM Spa. This is the third time that the product leaves for Europe.
In detail, in 2021, 50 tons of cocoa were exported and in 2022, 75 tons were destined for the Italian company.
It should be noted that, between 2014 and so far in 2023the groups that export cocoa have marketed 32,509 tons for a total FOB value of more than US$94 million.
Agripina Campos Mercado, president of the Aprosaroch organization, indicated that this result is the result of the efforts of her associates who opted for alternative cultivation.
“The work on the farm is hard and the sacrifice is enormous, but the support of Devida and other institutions makes it possible for our product to be valued abroad. That fills us with pride and satisfaction,” she said.
Currently, Devida promotes 115 cocoa organizations, of which 10 export. The organization has 206 members dedicated to the cocoa harvest in the district of Mazamari, province of Satipo, department of Junín, of which 75 are women.
