The head of a travel agency was accused of major fraud in the case of children being evicted from a hotel in Turkey.

Capital investigators have brought charges against the head of the travel company “Kolibri-tour”, TASS reports with reference to a message from the press service of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee for Moscow.

According to the department, charges have been filed for fraud on an especially large scale.

According to the investigation, from January 1, 2020 to August 8, 2023, employees of Kolibri-tour MSK LLC and IP Markina N.V. under the guise of providing services for organizing children’s holidays in Turkey, they concluded at least 100 civil contracts worth more than 1 million rubles, while they did not intend to fulfill any conditions.

Thus, in the period from June 1, 2023 to August 6, 2023, the defendants, having assumed on behalf of the company obligations to provide services in Turkey in accordance with concluded civil contracts, did not pay for hotel accommodation for at least 90 children aged from 6 to 17 years old. Due to this, the teenagers were forcibly evicted from the hotel at night.

“In the criminal case, the documentation of the travel company was studied, several minors were questioned as victims, and other investigative actions were carried out aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the incident. In addition, the capital’s investigators applied to the court with a request to seize property belonging to the defendants,” the press service concluded.
