Builders make proposals to Biess with a greater focus on mortgages, securitization and green credit

This morning, the manager of Biess, Iván Tobar met with representatives of the construction sector and listened to their proposals

The proposal that the Bank of the Ecuadorian Social Security Institute (Biess) participate in portfolio securitization, or obtain foreign credit, in green loans, as well as a greater focus on the granting of mortgage loans, were several of the proposals made the representatives of the country’s construction sector to the brand new manager of the financial entity owned by the IESS, Iván Tobar.

These proposals, and others that were given in the sense of reducing the paperwork and the delay of the processes, were generated within the framework of the First Biess Meeting with the housing construction and promotion sector, held yesterday at the Financial Platform.

During this meeting, the general manager of Biess, Iván Tobar, pointed out that the purpose of his administration is to collect the recommendations and work in a coordinated manner, emphasizing that one of its objectives is to put together an action plan, where the builders are the overseers.

“The short-term goal is to analyze the actions to be applied to reduce the times caused by the paperwork and the lack of standardization in the mortgage loan processes, applying immediate improvement actions,” said Tobar.

Among those attending this meeting were Eduardo Crespo vice president of the Association of Real Estate Developers of Ecuador (Apive); Leopoldo Ocampo, president of the Chamber of the Construction Industry (Camicon); Sue Murillo, president of the Association of Real Estate Brokers (Acbir Guayas); and Henry Yandun, representative of Positive Constructors, who agreed on their willingness to work with the current administration of Biess, and proposed that the Bank focus more importantly on mortgage loans in order to strengthen the bank and therefore the real estate and investment sector. construction.

Workshops with builders will be held in the coming days.
