Six of the eight candidates for the President of the Republic have already appeared at the Tax Administration (SRI), in the midst of the PCR (Rapid Control Plan) process that was carried out to check their tax status. Of the remaining two candidates, one asked to postpone the appointment for the next few days, and the other did not answer or show his face.

This is how eight candidates for President of the Republic behaved before the PCR tests conducted by SRI. The Tax Administration announced the beginning of this type of verification six months ago. This applies to “high-profile” natural persons, including footballers, members of the assembly, businessmen and natural persons with significant assets abroad.

SRI found five types of innovations in tax payment control that make up eight presidential binomials

In total, this type of trial raised $100 million. Now applied to presidential binomials.

On that topic, the director of the Tax Administration (SRI), Francisco Briones, announced that the only one who did not arrive “will start a formal audit or determination process.” This is because there are identified indications and since they have not appeared, nor have they given explanations, then they must move to this new phase.

Briones also explained that of the six present, all agreed to make the necessary clarifications and pay the determined differences. That the seven have different observations, but in different sizes.

Three conditions must be met in order for events to be considered artistic and cultural and not subject to VAT

At the end of this process, the DZI will make a report on the realized additional collection and explained that it will be an “interesting” amount, given that it is about only seven people.

When asked if the observations mean that these candidates would try to evade tax or what would be the reason for these established differences, Briones said that some justified the differences with information that SRI did not have, and others had problems due to ignorance or bad advice from their accounting teams.

Briones commented the previous days: “If someone has the will to lead the country, he must first show that he is in progress and that there are no open processes at the SRI for fraud, for evasion, for not declaring the assets he had abroad or the income with which he made those assets.”

The tax issue is also part of the campaign. For example, since the campaign of Jan Topić, it has been stated that he is the candidate who pays the most taxes.

In the meantime, candidate Xavier Hervas announced his presentation to SRI via social networks.
