New electricity supplies will cost 9% less for home users and small businesses

Within the framework of its powers, Osinergmin approved the new electrical connection costs for the period September 2023–August 2027, which contemplates reductions of up to 9.05% in the connection cost and up to 13.19% in the replacement and maintenance charge, for the tariff option BT5Bcategory in which they are home users and small businesses nationwide.

The approved costs are applied to the user at the time of installing a new supply and for its replacement and maintenance.

These costs include materials, labor, transportation, equipment, stock costs, among others, required for the installation of a new electrical connection.

In this regard, Osinergmin highlighted that the approved costs include the activity of contrasting electromechanical and electronic meters as part of the preventive maintenance of the electrical connection.

The contrast is a verification test of the proper functioning of the meter that is carried out periodically, in accordance with current regulations.
