Pension 65: More than 5,000 older adults will receive financial aid for the first time

The Pension 65 National Solidarity Assistance Program, attached to the Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion (Midis), approved the register of 557,043 users who will receive, starting this Monday, October 11, the subsidy of 250 soles in the 1874 districts of the country. This list includes 5,712 new beneficiaries.

According to the executive director of the social program, Mabel Gálvez Gálvez, Pension 65 aims to serve older adults who are at a higher level of vulnerability and with fewer opportunities to have a decent life.

For admission to the program, he considered the new order of priorities and criteria established since last two months: older adults suffering from tuberculosis (64 new users), with vulnerability verified by the staff of Pension 65 (750), with disabilities (568), from 80 to 99 years old (1293), from 100 years old to more (14), who reside in Vraem, Amazonian populated centers, Alto Huallaga and border areas (1744), and who have the conditions to be reincorporated (819).

In this regard, 425,868 users will be charged from this October 11 at Banco de la Nación agencies; while 131,175 users from rural and dispersed areas, just since November 15 through pay carts.

It is worth remembering that through the Yachaq Pensión 65 mobile application, users, their families, relatives and municipal authorities can confirm the affiliation of a person to the program and know their date and place of payment of the economic subsidy.
