Until next Thursday, a physical search will continue for the two-year-old boy Émile, who disappeared last Saturday while playing in the garden of his grandparents’ house in Le Vernet.

Police, soldiers and volunteers are taking part in the search and despite their best efforts, no clues have been found as to what happened to the minor.

Hundreds of police officers, soldiers and volunteers have made desperate efforts to track down the two-and-a-half-year-old boy, named Emile.

Prosecutor Rémy Avon added that they could not go beyond what they were already looking for and that they will continue to investigate the causes of this disappearance by obtaining a large amount of information and elements.

The high temperatures in the region increased the danger the child faced.

Those responsible for the search are not ruling out any hypothesis, either that the child left alone and got lost, or even a possible kidnapping, but for now they have no clues to think of a criminal act.

The last to see the little boy were two people who saw him walking down the street alone, and their trail has since disappeared.

The investigations included searching nearby woods and fields around the small town of Haut Vernet (north of Nice), home to just 25 people, and all the houses and buildings in the area.
