The National Institute for the Defense of Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property (Indecopi) launched an investigation against Life Music Entertainmentorganizer of the Reggaetón Lima Festival concert, to check if it complied with what was offered to the attendees.
The inquiry comes after several attendees denounced technical failures, the absence of several announced artists, among other problems, during the event last weekend.
The Technical Secretariat of the Consumer Protection Commission No. 3 of Indecopi indicated that, if irregularities are verified, will evaluate the sanctioning administrative procedure, which could conclude with fines of up to 450 UIT (S/2,227,500), in accordance with the provisions of the Consumer Protection and Defense Code.
Finally, the institution recalled that event organizers must always meet consumer expectations, according to what they were previously informed through advertising or their communication channels.
Life Music Entertainment speaks out
The organizer of the event Reggaeton Lima Festival issued a statement apologizing for the absence of two of the most anticipated singers of the night: Lunay and Ivy Queen.
“Given the various versions and comments about the second edition of the Reggaetón Lima Festival, we want to communicate that the presentation of the artists Lunay and Ivy Queen could not take place due to a technical mishap beyond our control, which occurred during the first minutes of the Lunay concert. Every effort was made to resolve the technical unforeseen event, which unfortunately was circumstantial and was not resolved,” the letter reads.
“As for Ivy Queen, her participation did not take place because her staff considered that after the mishap there were not enough guarantees to make her presentation,” he added.
He also indicated that from Monday, May 22 to Friday, May 26, a link will be enabled on the event page in Teleticket so that users can make the “requests they deem appropriate”.
