Stress, lack of sleep, poor nutrition – and this is not all that can harm the body’s immune system.

As for an unbalanced diet, according to MedikForum, according to scientists from the University of Bonn, our body needs a variety of nutrients – macro- and microelements that come with healthy food. If this does not happen, it is subject to disease. It was found that the immune system reacts to an excess of fatty and high-calorie foods as a bacterial infection. The resulting aggressive reaction leads to inflammation, which can dramatically accelerate the development of vascular disease or type 2 diabetes.

Cooling. There is a link between cold feet and a weakened immune system. The body registers cooling of the legs by vasoconstriction – in this way it tries to protect strategically important organs from heat loss. The problem is that with vasoconstriction, the mucous membranes, which play the role of an immune barrier, are worse supplied with blood. This makes them drier, and as a result, viruses enter the body more easily.

Lack of sleep. Lack of sleep is another “killer” of the immune system in everyday life, because it is during sleep that a particularly large amount of substances that strengthen it are released. Studies have shown that the body of people with chronic sleep deprivation has a reduced ability to form antibodies that are important for the immune system.

Smoking. Our bronchi are equipped with cilia, which take over the function of waste disposal after the work of the lungs. With their wave-like movements, these thin hairs carry out “dirt”, as well as pathogens. Smoking destroys cilia, and the consequences of such destruction can be fatal for a person.

Stress. The immune system is “killed” by prolonged stress. It reduces the activity of killer cells in the blood, which fight viruses, bacteria and fungi, and also reduces the number of immune cells. Scientists explain that in a state of constant stress, those chronic pathologies that the immune system usually controls well, such as herpes, appear or worsen. Even vaccines work worse in people who are under constant stress.

Alcohol consumption. Under the influence of alcohol, the activity of immune cells decreases. Scientists from Loyal University in Chicago found that a few hours after drinking, there are fewer monocytes (immune defense cells) and natural killer cells in the body, and at the same time, the concentration of various cells that suppress the immune system increases. In this case, it becomes more difficult for the body to fight viruses, and existing diseases are aggravated.
