Mypes request S/1,000 million budget for the Compras Myperú program

Representatives of the mypes of the textile and clothing sector, both from Lima and the provinces, met with the vice minister of Mype and Industry, Javier Dávila, and the executive director of Compras Myperú, Karin Pariona, and asked the authorities to provide a budget of S/1,000 million to the state purchase program for this year, which will contribute to the economic reactivation of this business sector.

“We estimate that for this crisis it is necessary more or less S/1,000 million for the Compras Myperú program. Because now S/2 billion has been designated as collateral for loans, but microenterprises don’t need to borrow more, what they need is work. And the way to generate work at this time is through this program because it has a nationwide reach (…), and we will be able to generate employment, which is what we need at this time,” Esperanza Tafur told this newspaper, president of United Mypes of Peru (MUP).

According to the Center for Mype Studies (CEMYPE), all regions of the country are still affected by all the crises since 2020. For example, of the manufacturing mypes, only 30% of the machines are working, while the services have lost 25% of their replacement capital.

Another item on the agenda was the process of purchasing uniforms and clothing for the Peruvian National Police through the state program. The money for this purchase has already been transferred to the Ministry of Interior; however, the person in charge in this entity is not taking the necessary steps to execute the assigned amount, according to Tafur.

“It is useless for the minister or the president to say ‘we are going to support’ and designate a budget, if the technicians are going to take their lives, as if we were in normal times, where there is no crisis,” said the leader.

At the meeting, the authorities of the Ministry of Production (Produce) They also announced that in the coming days a package of measures will be announced that will help reactivate the textile and clothing sector.
