The proportion of women in the business community has risen from 33.7% to 34.4% in the 2015-2020 period. However, the trend has not been uniform in Álava, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa.
The proportion of women entrepreneurs was 34.4% in the 2020 in the Basque Autonomous Community (CAV), still far from parity, according to the report of the Basque Institute of Statistics Eustat. Although the proportion has decreased compared to the previous two years, it is higher than the 2015 when it was 33.7%.
On 2018 Of the total number of entrepreneurs, 35.4% were women, compared to 35.1% of 2019.
Nevertheless, the trend has not been uniform in the three territories: in Álava it has fallen six points, in Bizkaia it rises almost three points and in Gipuzkoa the proportion is almost the same.
On Álava There has been a sustained decrease in the 2015-2020 period in the proportion of women in the business community, which falls by almost 6 percentage points between 2015 and 2020, from 36.7% to 30.8%. On Bizkaia the trend is the reverse, with an increase of almost three points between the reference year (33%) and 2020 (35.8%), and in Gipuzkoa the proportion is similar in 2015 (33.2%) and in 2020 (33.4%).
This is one of the indicators of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development of the United Nations in the Basque Autonomous Community.
