The health is, after the working marketone of the Euskadi’s biggest problems for Basque citizens. This is one of the conclusions of the Basque Government’s Sociometer on society’s perception of the current situation.

The Sociological Surveys Cabinet has published this Friday the results of the second part of the survey, which was carried out from January 31 to February 6 by telephone interview with 3,000 inhabitants of the Basque Autonomous Community (CAV). In the first part, the citizens were asked about their intention to vote for the municipal and regional elections.

In this installment, the problems related to the working market they continue to be the most mentioned, since more than half of those surveyed (56%) have cited them. However, unlike previous surveys, the health it has become a second source of concern: it is for 35% of people (compared to 19% who mentioned it in the October survey). In third place, and cited by 28% of the survey participants, are the economic problems.

With less than 15% of the mentions, there are problems related to housing and evictions, crime and citizen insecurity, and the political situation and politicians.

In addition, and when asked what assessment their current personal situation deserves, the Basque citizenry scores 6.9 out of 10 and is somewhat more hopeful about what it will be like in a year (7.0). However, the evaluation of the situation in the Basque Country is low, with an average score of 6. The situation in Spain does not even pass, with a score of 4.8 out of 10.

Regarding the entities that most distrust generate, head the list the Spanish monarchy (18%), the political parties (20%), like the banks. The UPV/EHU and the Basque Government are, on the other hand, the institutions that generate the most trust (cited by 85% and 78%, respectively).

In relation to political sympathies, the PNV leads the list with a score of 5.1 out of 10. It is followed by the PSE-EE (4.3), EH Bildu (4.0), Elkarrekin Ahal Dugu (3.6) , PP (1.8), and Vox (0.6).

Only two politicians approve the assessment of citizenship: the lehendakari Inigo Urkulluwho received the highest grade, 5.7 out of 10, and the parliamentary spokesperson for EH Bildu, Maddalen Iriarte, with a 5.5.

Behind them are Miren Gorrotxategi from Elkarrekin Podemos with a 4.8; the socialist Eneko Andueza with a 4.4; Amaia Martínez de Vox with a 2.8, and the president of the popular Basques, Carlos Iturgaiz, closes the list with a 2.1.
