Home sales in the CAV grew by almost 10% in 2022

In Navarra, on the other hand, the sale of homes fell by 0.5%.

Home sales increased last year in the Basque Autonomous Community (CAV) 9.8% when closing 23,814 operations. In Navarreon the other hand, registered a slight decrease of 0.5%.

According to data released by the National Institute of Statistics (INE), the CAV closed the year with an annual rise in sales thanks to the fact that December was the only month in which the real estate market contracted (-12.3%). The rest of the months sales grew and even registered increases above 20%, as in October when 24.6% more was sold than in the same month of 2021 and August, with 21% more.

In the whole of the year, 23,814 homes were sold, a figure that had not been reached since 2011, when 30,772 sales operations were registered. Most of the apartments bought last year were from second hand (19,934), since only 3,880 were from new construction.

In addition, the vast majority of operations corresponded to the free marketwith 21,663 sales, compared to 2,151 apartments that had some type of official protection.

On the other hand, the sale price of homes rose in the Basque Country to 2,932 euros/m2. In Navarra, on the other hand, there has been a slight reduction in prices from 1,768 euros/m2 in 2021 to 1,750 euros/m2 in 2022.
