MTC: Line 3 of the Metro would be awarded in the second half of this year

The head of Transport and Communications, Paola Lazarte, also highlighted that Line 2 of the Lima Metro presents a physical and economic progress of 45%.

He Executive power plans to tender the construction of the Line 3 of the Lima Metro in the second half of 2023, according to the Minister of Transport and Communications, Paola Lazarte. “We are contemplating, in a pessimistic scenario, making the award in the second half of this year and, based on this, we would have the project execution schedule,” he said.

On Line 2 of the Lima Metro, he reported that the work presents a physical and economic progress of 45%. “The ministry is working on improving coordination to be able to move forward with the signing of optimizations, the acquisition of land and the removal of interferences,” he said.

On the other hand, the official indicated that the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) will invest S/5,540 million in the construction of 16 highways and S/1,353 million in 65 bridges throughout the national territory, in order to make available to citizenship high-impact infrastructures.

These are projects that are linked to tourism development activities and logistics corridors, which facilitate the closing of gaps in the country and mean a significant injection into the national economy because they generate purchases of national inputs and hiring of local labor.
