Two will be international and one domestic.
According to the Ministry of Tourism, Ecuador will have three new air routes that will be operated by the Colombian airline Avianca, two will be international and will depart from Guayaquil.
The first will be destined for New York, the United States, from December, and the second for Lima, Peru, but the latter is scheduled to start in January.
The third route will be internal and will connect the city of Quito with Coca, in the Amazon.
“We are seeing a new demand from passengers and our intentions are to continue growing,” said Julián Laverde, Avianca’s vice president of Network Operations, according to a ministry statement.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Public Works, Marcelo Cabrera, expressed his wishes that the airline could include other destinations on its routes. (I)
