They find the body of a man floating in the estuary branch in the south of Guayaquil

Police personnel said that the body is being inspected in order to clarify the circumstances of the victim’s death.

Neighbors warned of the discovery of a lifeless man floating in a branch of the estuary, at the height of the first bridge of the Perimetral road, in the south of Guayaquil, on the morning of this Friday 12.

The inhabitants of the area saw at 06:00 some legs that floated in the estuary and some fishermen who were going out to work dragged them towards the shore.

The residents commented that the corpse has a sack with stones tied around its neck, so half of the leather remained under water.

Police teams arrived in the area after the public alert for the appearance of the body.

Colonel Pablo Fajardo, of the National Police, explained that the man would have been thrown into the water approximately twelve hours ago and that the current has dragged him to that area of ​​the estuary.

Police personnel inspected the man’s body in order to clarify the circumstances of his death.

For now, Fajardo said the victim wears a red shirt and underwear and was between 45 and 50 years old.

The body was extracted from the water and transferred to the morgue of the Judicial Police, around 10:00, as it was necessary for two divers from the Special Operations Group (GOE) to arrive.
