Users have the right to be informed clearly and in advance before the postponement of an event or change of location, reported the indecopi. Likewise, it specified that the supplier is obliged to evaluate options to offer to clients, in case the variations do not adapt to the conditions required by the consumer.
This announcement was made after statements by Carlos Bruce, mayor of Santiago de Surco, who reported the cancellation of several concerts at Arena PerĂº, Plaza Arena and the Explanada Pelouse because they did not have permits for their performance.
Along these lines, Indecopi recalled that article 97 of the Consumer Protection and Defense Code establishes that people have the right to a new performance of the service or a refund of the amount paid if it does not meet the conditions required by the consumer. In addition, suppliers must have their service channels enabled in the event of any query or inconvenience.
Finally, Indecopi commented that it will require information from the Municipality of Santiago de Surco in relation to the new provisions issued by the mayor of said commune.
