Chilean-American actor Peter Pascal (The Law and Order, The Mandalorian, The Last of Us) was the special guest of the show Saturday night Live on February 4, and took the opportunity to send a loving message to his cousins who still live in their country of origin: “Please, stop giving out my personal information.”

Pascal, born in Santiago in 1975, recounted during his monologue on SNL that he, his parents (a psychologist and a doctor supporters of Salvador Allende) and his older sister came to the United States fleeing the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet. “They were very brave, and without them I would not be in this wonderful country.” In Chile, he added, 34 of his first cousins remain, who are so proud of his acting career that they give his phone number to the whole world.
“That’s why I get calls from people saying: Can you come to my wedding? Can you sing happy birthday to my priest? Is Baby Yoda mean in real life?
He admitted that his family did not always have the opportunity to be proud of him, because his beginnings were with modest (and criminal) roles in Law and order. Now that it has entered the realm of the big franchises, such as Game of Thrones and Star Wars.

Humbly recognized that much of his fame in The Mandalorian actually corresponds to his character Din Djarinthat is, to the helmet and the deep voice, which is what the children recognize and expect to see when they are told that they are facing the Mandalorian.
Pascal addressed his family in Chile with three sentences in Spanish, which he later translated for North American viewers: “I love you, I miss you, and stop giving out my personal information.” (AND)
