Produce implements state platform for direct purchase from farmers

“Digital Producer” seeks to reach more than 200,000 organic workers and 2 million mypes.

He Ministry of Production (Produce) launched its first free virtual state platform: “Digital Producer”. This will allow direct purchase from agricultural mypes, artisanal fishermen and fishing cooperatives and small fish farmers in the interior of the country.

This initiative is given in a union with the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Center for Alternative Popular Research.

The new platform is marketplace type and will allow producers to increase their sales, reach new markets and improve their profitability. In the first stage it is expected to reach 200,000 producers, family and hydrobiological from different regions of the country two million mypes dedicated to agricultural productionof which 97% represent producers dedicated to family farming.

The head of the Produce portfolio, Raúl Pérez Reyes Espejo, mentioned during the presentation of “Digital Producer” that electronic commerce is expected to improve the living conditions of both family farming producers and the integrated fishing sector. by half a million to a million families directly and indirectly linked.
