Joe Biden Says He’ll ‘Take Care’ of Chinese Spy Balloon as FAA Shuts Three Airports Amid Controversy

Departures and arrivals at three US airports have been halted as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issues a ground stop to “support the Department of Defense in a national security effort.”

Flights to and from Wilmington International Airport, Myrtle Beach International Airport, and Charleston International Airport _located in the Carolinas_ have stopped, the FAA confirmed to CBS News.

This situation occurs in the midst of the expectation for the overflight of a Chinese spy balloon. For now, the closure of these air terminals is the only thing that is known.

Reports and verified photos on social media show that the suspected Chinese spy balloon, which is carrying surveillance equipment and was first spotted over Montana on Thursday, was recently in the skies over the South Carolina area.

US President Joe Biden said this Saturday “he will take care of” the globebut did not elaborate on what that could mean.

China acknowledged that the high-altitude balloon belongs to Beijing, but referred to it as a civilian device “used for scientific research such as meteorology” that went off course.

This Saturday, the US media reported that the balloon had been seen over North Carolina and South Carolina, in the east of the country.

Another alleged Chinese balloon was seen over Latin America, the Pentagon said on Friday, without providing details about its location or where it was headed. (YO)
