The majority of the Bizkaia metal trade union and the FVEM employers endorse the proposal of the Basque Government

The unions that make up the union majority at the negotiation table of the Bizkaia metal agreement, CCOO, LAB and UGT, have held assemblies of their respective affiliates this Wednesday.

The unions that make up the union majority at the negotiating table of the Bizkaia metal agreement, CCOO, LAB and UGT, held this Wednesday assemblies of their respective affiliates in which they endorsed the new proposal presented by the Basque Government in the third meeting of the mediation process between the parties promoted by the Executive of Vitoria-Gasteiz.

The three unions have announced, in a brief note, that in all the assemblies the proposal presented by the Department of Employment and Labor of the Basque Government has been ratified.

In this way, they join the governing bodies of the Biscayan Federation of Metal Companies, FVEMwhich have also given the green light to the proposal presented by the Basque Government for the Bizkaia metal agreement, which affects more than 50,000 workers.

In a press release, the FVEM has ensured that this ratification “represents a significant effort on the part of the companies” and that it is accepted “from a perspective committed to the future, to the industry and to the people who work in the sector” .
