Government will seek to reactivate the Gasoducto del Sur project

The head of the Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem), Óscar Vera, announced that the current government is committed to reactivating the project Southern gas pipeline to be executed and completed, which will allow the development of a Petrochemical Complex.

“We are going to reactivate the Gasoducto del Sur project, which will allow its development to build a petrochemical plant and will also include a fertilizer plant,” said the official during his speech at the plenary session of the Congress of the republic.

Likewise, the head of Minem announced that another massification project will also be developed in the southern zone of Peru, to give continuity to the Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) at the Kepashiato plant, for which S/13 million have already been transferred.

Minister Vera also specified that from his office the special infrastructure project for the distribution system of natural gas through ductswhich will benefit 17,897 families in Ucayali, where S/32 million will be executed in 2023 out of a total of S/130 million that the work implies.

“In Cusco We are going to benefit 28,841 families with an investment of S/47 million out of a total of S/200 million to be invested. In Ayacucho we are going to benefit 15,417 families with an investment of S/21 million out of a total of S/120 million,” the Minem headline stated.

As for Puno, Junin, huancavelica and Apurímac, the Minister of Energy and Mines explained that this year S/50 million out of a total of S/350 million will be invested, benefiting 51,650 families in these regions.
